Jo Simpson was born on July 9, 1947, in San Francisco, California, United States. He is the son of Eunice Simpson and Jimmy Lee Simpson.
Growing up, he had three siblings: one brother, Melvin Leon “Truman” Simpson, one living sister, Shirley Simpson–Baker, and one deceased sister, Carmelita Simpson–Durio.
Simpson enrolled at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, which he had admired as a young football fan.

Personal Life
Former NFL star and actor O.J. Simpson had a turbulent personal life marked by two marriages. His first wife was Marguerite Whitley, whom he married in 1967.
Their union lasted until their divorce in 1979 when they had two children together: Arnelle Simpson and Jason Simpson.
After the dissolution of his first marriage, Simpson went on to marry Nicole Brown Simpson in 1985. This union produced three children: Sydney Simpson and Justin Simpson. This marriage was needed in a divorce in 1992.
Tragically, this second Nicole Brown Simpson was brutally murdered on June 12, 1994, along with her friend Ronald Goldman, outside her home in Los Angeles, and O.J. Simpson was falsely accused of the charge.
